Lighthouse Christian Academy
More than a daycare - a child learning center.
Serving Key West and the Lower Florida Keys
Why Are We Here?
We believe that LCA is obligated to be more than a Key West daycare. We are a child care, child development and child education center with your child's success as our focus and driving force.
To achieve this we depend on building a Christian foundation as the way to get the best results for your child. Visit our Administration areas for more details about our academy.
Who is Our Sponsor?
Lighthouse Christian Academy is first and foremost a ministry of Covenant Word Church. We feel that the most important thing for your child is to be cared for and taught in an environment that includes Jesus as a central part of it. We pray for the kids when they feel the sniffles coming on, teach them about Bible people and places and treat them with love as Jesus said to.
What is Chapel Time?
Every morning we have what we call Chapel Time where we have fun learning and singing about God. We also have Bible Time when we hear stories from the Bible as read by some of our friends from Covenant Word Church.
What is Our Standard?
Everything we do is with excellence; as child care should be. We require of ourselves standards which far surpass even those we are given by the State because your child's welfare, safety and education are our main goal.
What Are Our Qualifications?
When we began, Lighthouse Christian Academy's leaders chose to voluntarily become state certified (License # C11514). We have several CDA's on staff and stand ready to answer any further questions you may have about certifications, awards, etc.
Who Do We Enroll?
We enroll children from infant to Kindergarten age. This means that from the time your child is two months old until the time he or she is ready for "big kids school" they will be with the same people in a consistent environment. It is important during the early years to provide a stable environment and at Lighthouse you will not have to wait until the child is three or take your child somewhere else after a year or two because they have become "too old."
Don't be surprised to see a tear or two from the teachers at graduation
though... they really become attached to the kids and love them very
much so it's hard to see them leave, but they know that your child is
leaving with the best head start possible.
